If You Can't Go to the Beach Maybe the Beach Will Come to You
I'm just off the map to the bottom right in Yeovil. Martock is like a short bike ride from Yeovil. I don't know what its like elsewhere in the UK assume there are some areas that will be equally destroyed by rising sea levels. Many new islands will be created in my area and some wonderful places will disappear. 30 years is nothing in the scheme of things. There is no way the government could stop this, the amount of money would be astronomical and we already have enough debts to last us 40-50 years. Yeovil and Taunton might become seaside resorts for a few decades before perhaps water levels rise again.
We are going to need help from other parts of the world where they may have arrid areas that could be flooded thereby making their land far more fertile. Some countries will pretty much disappear with rising sea levels. Philippines and maybe the Netherlands comes to mind.
