Can Celebrity Kids Have Normal Jobs?

So North West, daughter of Kanye & Kim Kardashian, has said that despite already building a music career, she still wants to experience a completely normal teenage job. The 13-year-old said she hopes to work at Starbucks when she turns 14 next year.
Mmm…how long will she last? I would say that it’s good she wants to experience how being ‘normal’ is, as her life is far from normal, but I don’t expect her to actually have to work that hard…ever
Can celebrity kids ever escape the spotlight if their parents have kept them in it from the start?
I would say it's good for them also to experience it. Get a feeling of the real world and how it works on a day to basis and see how others manage life/finances etc without having been born into money/celebrity status

It would be good if she did. We will see. I know Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue has a son who works as a pre-construction manager in housing. I think that's a rare example of a celebrity kid with a multi millionaire parent doing a regular day job.
Well, for a start she could take off all that slap as she certainly doesn't look only 13. I would be interested in seeing how long she lasts in a normal job at age 14, knowing she can walk out at any time with no consequences and repercussions.
If they aren't in the spotlight why not. If they in the spotlight it might be harder to get a normal job
Jerseydrew definitely, as she’ll be very recognisable, & the shop that hires her will probably be far busier than they can normally handle (I guess not a bad thing if it’s an independent business that needs exposure)
They can have a normal job but I don't think they will ever be treated the same as others that aren't anything to do with a celebrity. She does not look like a 13 year old at all and I've read she has several knuckle piercings etc.. this is not normal for a 13 year old. So I would be very surprised if she does work in a Starbucks and enjoys actually working.
If the celebrity is known then I think it will be difficult for them to be able to work somewhere without people wanting to see them, the business they would work for would probably do a roaring trade. On the flip side I do think they find it easier to get into some kind of show business as I think the doors are open for them even if they don’t have talent.
eyeballkerry indeed - I think she’s naturally going to ebb towards music & have an influencer side to match it, & with her look & styling, she’s already ready to do whatever she wants. Let’s hope she doesn’t hate the spotlight
hspexy I do feel sorry for some of the celebrity children because they are born into the lifestyle and it was not chosen. Oblivious the lifestyle with the homes and money their parents have made is probably very nice but being in the limelight is not also what’s it’s cracked up to be. Especially this days many can’t leave their homes without being followed and filmed. Hopefully North West can deal with whatever is thrown at her which ever direction she takes.
Starbucks will grab the opportunity to give her a job. No doubt her parents will drop and pick her up from work and fans will be waiting inside drinking their coffee.
Pjran Good point. Influencers will be lining up to get served by her to film a video, then that will advertise Starbucks, so yes, I'm sure she'll have no problems getting past the interview; in fact, they won't even interview her, just give her the job!
Wow, firstly I didn't know you could work in Starbucks at 14 in America, isn't the proper age for work in the UK 16 and above? As for celebrities being able to have normal jobs, I think it really depends upon the level of fame of their parents. I think North West is famous enough that there would be paparazzi taking pictures and it could be disruptive. Still if she wants to do it then fairplay and let her. It's not really practical though, especially since her father has become pretty controversial in recent years.
She had no real need for an average job, just a whim on her part, first time something doesn't suit her or when she gets bored she will be out the door. The only benefit in someone like Starbucks employing her would be for publicity .
