CeraVe vs Cetaphil

Ask a Question

Which one do y’all prefer and why?

I have the CeraVe salicylic acid cleanser and the Cetaphil face and body moisturizer and I want to get through both before trying out their other products. Both have worked miracles foe my sensitive acne-prone skin. But what are your thoughts? What are your favourites and least favourites?

I prefer CeraVe. I find it works more quickly which is a bonus for me, and hasn’t irritated my skin so far which a lot of products do.

Yeah I’m definitely a bit more biased towards CeraVe because my skin barrier becomes compromised very easily and the ceramides help with that. However, Cetaphil tends to be on sale more often so I end up gravitating towards that.

flipside I’ve noticed CeraVe isn’t on sale as often too. It’s a shame, but I can see why since it does appear to be a little better for me.

I use Lush products because they don't contain salicylates and salicylic acid I'm allergic to them. This allergy also makes food fun as salicylates are found in most foods because its the natural pigmentation of food

Thats actually awful. So what do you exfoliate with? Can you use willow bark extract?

flipsideWillow bark is heavily charged with salicylic acid so its a whole new level of allergens. Victorians used willow bark to make their version of acetylsalicylic acid which is now more commonly known as aspirin.
