Alternatives to Cereal?
Ask a Question
Is anyone addicted to cereal? I am, I need alternatives - low sugar/fat or carb content preferable please. It’s my go to during the lockdown right now!
I tend to eat Shredded Wheat and Shreddies.
Shredded Wheat is fairly healthy, unfortunately it tastes it!
I love Dorset Cereals, it’s filling so you don’t need a huge bowl. My husband always makes porridge with cocoa powder, sultanas and once cooked adds a chopped apple and walnuts.

Wait, they had to make you home arrest to realize how good cereal can be? Eh.
I personally like the chocolate flakes and honey ones.
Even the generic brands tend to be pretty darn good. Plus, they're cheaper so can't beat that.
Rolled oats(porridge) it will keep you feeling full for much longer, you can add fresh fruit/peanut butter x
Oooh, peanut butter on porridge. Gotta try me some of that! I was gonna suggest mashed banana on wholegrain toast and as filling and sweet breakfast. How about going for porridge with peanut butter and then mashed banana on toast? Hmm ... Breakfast sorted.
Have you tried chopping up an apple into small chunks and snacking on that instead? Sweet, crunchy and low in bad carbs. And you get to feel virtuous for eating a health food.
I like blueberry or banana on my porridge or with natural Greek yogurt, I also like Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts as I've got sweet tooth and these are low fat and low carb alternatives.
