'Charlie Bit My Finger' Video Sold for £500,000 as 'Digital Art'

In the News

I wouldn't have thought a family video of a baby bitting his brother's finger would have that much interest to anyone outside the family. But this video was uploaded in 2007 & has been viewed 880 million times !

But not something I would consider art digital or otherwise

Sales in digital content/art is certainly on the rise. With speculators going a bit crazy. We may well see a Dot-com bubble style crash in this market within the next few years. This particular video is only really interesting in the sense it's an early example of a viral video. It won't have a lot of rewatch value for most people and interest in it will likely steadily decline over time.

I've never seen this video and I have no intention of watching it either. I rarely watch viral videos and I certainly don't understand how it has been sold for so much!
