Cheapest Way to Get to Gatwick Airport from London

I didn’t realise you could now use contactless for trains going to Gatwick, which is cheaper than the prices quoted for tickets on national rail (the days when you can get £5 single tickets on the day are long gone!)
Does anyone know of any other good sites where you can get reduced rail fares?
I‘m not sure but I think if you book way in advance on southernrailway.com you can get single tickets for £5 to most destinations on their network.
You may be restricted to a specific train though
I tried that and couldn’t get any tickets cheaper than £10 
and there’s a possibility that they may not run their services on the date I need to use them. I’ll keep checking as the prices do seem to keep changing
Download bla bla blah car sharing app. You get to car share with someone doing that journey for like roughly a £5. Car drivers profiles are verified and reviews written if your worried about safety.
