What’s the cheapest way to heat the whole house? Gas or electric or is there another way?!
Cheapest way would involve small house or just warming one room

You could try heating on the floors. Always wanted those and if those are on couple of hours it could last a while as there is a large surface area. Although best to check with people who actually have underfloor heating....
Being on a cheap rate, having your thermostat a degree lower, have good insulation, turn the radiator down in rooms you don't use as often and keep the doors to rooms closed as it will help trap the heat.
summa68 When it was really cold I kept the bedroom curtains closed, also put extra thermal linings in. Door curtain over outside door. Thick mattress topper and flannelette sheets as opposed to polycotton and a hot water bottle.
summa68 lilyflower I also wear layers, keep the bedroom curtains closed and have cosy sheets. After I've used the oven I leave the door open so the heat escapes into the room and it is nice and warm in there whilst we eat. You could also put those long door stopper things at the bottom of outside doors to stop cold air getting in. Blankets for when sitting on the sofas is also a good idea, helps protect the sofa and can be used to keep you warm.
If it’s just you, a heated throw works really well as keeps you toasty and very cheap to run plus there’s a timer on them and different settings. Also, sounds daft but if you have a modern gas combi boiler and the radiators get hot quickly, set the timer for the first ten minutes for the hours your home as the radiators get hot in the ten minutes and take a while to cool down then you get the 10 minute boost again
Floor heating is great, although I can’t say I know how much it costs overall. I’d just wear thermals and layers to deal with the cold - which is the cheapest option
We had a zone switch added to our heating system so we can have the whole house, or just the living area or bedrooms heated. It saves heating rooms you are not using.
I found getting my smart meter fitted helped a lot as you are more aware of how things cost to run etc. I always set a timer for my heating as well so I know it’s not being used when not in.
Mid-Terraced houses are warmer than other property types because of their shared walls, with fewer walls exposed to the elements, allowing you to save money on your heating bills.
Totally agree, our flat is bottom middle in block of 6, it's like being wrapped in bubble wrap the flat always seems warm and it heating needs to go on it's only for a very short time.
