CHECK YOUR PURSE!! Last chance to exchange your ‘Jane Austen’ £10 notes. Use 'em or lose 'em!
With the Covid-19 virus stealing all the headlines, I think many people missed that Tuesday 31st March was the final day retailers would accept the old ‘Jane Austen’ £10 note made of polymer. It's been replaced by the new ‘Charles Dickens’ tenner made of a new super strong paper.
If you’ve got any of the old ‘Jane Austen’ £10 notes left you can still exchange them until 5pm today (Wednesday 01/04/2020) at most high street banks who will have exchange counters open specifically for that purpose. Be sure to queue up properly!
Check your purse for any ‘Jane Austen’ £10 notes like this that are no longer legal tender:
The £20 note will be next to be changed at the end of April.
