Child Benefit Amount is Rising next Month
In the News
CHILD BENEFIT is set to increase next month, following the end of the benefits freeze. How much will the new rates rise to from April 2020?
wow a extra few pence thanks when people on uc are getting a lot more whice until I have my last day i will always have my own opinion on that subject working class deserves as much help as these do
If it is set to go up by 1.7% and I have done my calculations correctly (maths was never my strong point) then it would be an extra £1.40 a month for the 1st child, which would be an extra £16.80 a year. An extra £1.40 a month might not sound like much but it does mean another packet of wipes or more food for your child or a playgroup once a month. I have always been very grateful for my sons child benefit and spend every penny of it on him and that little bit extra means he will benefit a bit more.
I know it's not a huge amount and won't make much difference to some people but for others it will make a difference.
