Childhood Collections
Ask a Question
I used to collect elephants ( obviously not real ones). What did you collect as a child and do you still have the collection. Or have you started a new collection as you got older. I now collect sand from my different holidays and store and label it in mini jars.
I collected stamps and coins. The stamps were GB used and unused, plus presentation packs and first day covers. A couple of years ago I gave my collections to my two grandsons and granddaughter being the oldest had already been given my jewellery on her 16th, 18th and 21st birthday. I still have a few coins in a draw somewhere but nothing of much value. I think it's a shame kids don't collect stamps anymore, I started around the age of 9.
Flags from holidays and coins too. Might still have them somewhere, but not sure where if I do.
My daughter is 18 and has a stamp collection. She has coins as well. Recently sold some coins for £60.
I have a huge collection of postcards up in the loft. I started this and my children carried on.
I collected the little Whimsie Wade ornaments and still have them, also all my old Enid Blyton books and Twinkle and Bunty annuals. I have had so many clearouts but still can't let these go. Definitely a hoarder, lol.
Ooh, thanks eyeballkerry I might well do that. I am such a bad hoarder, lol. Did you sell them on eBay?
