Children's Book Recommendations
Ask a Question
I am always on the look out for new books for my wee book worm. He absolutely loves books. He loves being read to, he loves turning the pages, looking at the pictures and touching the pictures.
Does anyone have recommendations of books that they think are really good? He is 2 and loves a wide range of books. We would normally visit the library and get him a new book from there but we can't do that just now.
Imnotcheap he hasn't read either of those yet, thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to make a list of books for him and buy him. A new one every so often and his grandparents like buying him books so I can suggest which ones to get too.
MrsCraig It's along time since mine where 2 but from what I remember Farmyard Tales from Usborne. They tell 'tales' from Poppy and Sam living at Apple Tree Farm. Bunny Pulls It Off - John Talbot. Six Dinner Sid - Inga Moore. The Tiger who came to Tea - Judith Kerr. Thomas the Tank. Fireman Sam. Spot. Mog. Anything by Jill Murphy. They Jolly Postman
lilyflower he loves Thomas the Tank and Fireman Sam. He watched the Tiger who came to tea over Christmas and loved it, so got the book. I have heard of Farmyard Tales before but not the others so will look into them. Thanks
Haven’t got any specific recommendations but I would suggest having a look on The Works website as I know they have a lot of children’s books and they are good prices
The Mog books by Judith Kerr are lovely as are all the Julia Donaldson. So many lovely books to choose from. I’m not keen on Disney ones though.
Grannyclock we don't have any Disney ones in the house! He loves Julia Donaldson, his favourite book is the Gruffalo and he has a few of the Mog books which his Granny bought him, but will look to see which ones he doesn't have. Thanks
MrsCraig my favourites are Mog’s Christmas and Mog and the V E T. My children and grandchildren all enjoyed them and I did work based around them at school.
Grannyclock we have Mog's Christmas and Mog and the Vet, his Granny bought them for him for Christmas 2020. He really enjoys them and he sees Mog he says cat.
MrsCraig we used to have a cat that looked like Mog and he was just like that when we took him to the vet!
