Just watched this and I think I’m ready to move out to live in my own island!

I hope he gets to return to his paradise soon

Yes I would cut my self away from the rest of the world because. The world gone bad with shooting, stabbings, muggings. It's just not a safe place to live any more.

I'm guessing that as the population grows, more bad things will happen - I don't think we were supposed to be this highly populated, so all these 'bad' things are our own doings I'm afraid. We don't have a natural predator on the food chain to take us out, so we are doing it to ourselves (sorry to sound bleak). Either way, the island looks awesome

I think it is more likely the stressful life and worries what makes people do this. There is no worry about earning money. No disappointments. No one tells him how he looks like, why he did not brush his hair...etc and he is in an amazing place.

Just pure work for himself to get food, drink...

This reminds me of a story:

There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village.

As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the beach having caught several big fish.

The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?”

The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.”

“Why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” asked the businessman.

“This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said.

The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?”

The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and when the evening comes, I join my friends in the village for a drink — we play guitar, sing and dance through the night.”

The businessman made a suggestion to the fisherman.

“I have a PhD in business management. I could help you to become more successful. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you can buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and a distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up your HQ to manage your other branches.”

The fisherman replied, “And after that?”

The businessman laughed heartily. “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares on the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.”

The fisherman replied, “And after that?”

The businessman said, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with your kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when the evening comes, you can join your friends for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!”

The fisherman was puzzled, “Isn’t that what I am doing now?” he said.

Wouldn't mind so. The basic steps are to know how to take care of yourself with very little and make it work all the while.

Almost everyone feel their feelings are hurt and people are urpy, durpy meanie to them.. How does the saying goes? Weak men create hard times, strong men create good times.

The snowball has initiated rolling down the cliff and it'll eventually reach its destination.

Grab a smoke and watch it all happen.
