Anyone Started Shopping for Christmas?
Ask a Question
So dare I ask if anyone has started christmas shopping yet. I like to get the bargins and be organised
Yes. Lockdown was a good opportunity to order Christmas presents as so many companies were having excellent sales. I have even wrapped and written the gift tags.
same i started because of lock down. i personally have already got 5 bags full lol. saves so much money doing it that way though
Lynibis wow! You're organised we don't wrap until everything is bought because we forget what we've bought
Yes, I got quite a few in sales during lockdown. Infact just bought a couple item's today for friends. At the beginning of year I got wrapping paper / tags etc from Tesco in sale for 10p / 20p each.
Christmas is expensive so it makes sense to me to spread the cost & nab items in sales. The only people I wait till later in year to buy for are the little ones as what they want/enjoy can change very frequently.
I got a box for presents. It includes various bits for males or females which I can whip out as needed for birthdays, xmas etc. It includes nice gift sets from Ted Baker, etc, for men I hot some watches, aftershave... I buy it when I see a good deal and it always comes handy if I get an unexpected invite or just want to say 'thank you' with a little gift
yes i do this with the lynx sets! i love when i find them super cheap and i buy a bunch just incase
I have had a look for presents and I have made a list of items that I would like for my son and family and I am keeping an eye out for when these go down on price, if they do. I haven't actually bought anything yet.
Iβm starting to think about it but July is a horrendous month of birthdays and expenses, so Iβm going to have to wait a while until I can afford to start.. iβm currently pregnant and due at the end of September so I think Iβll be slightly distracted leading up to christmas!
Yes guilty most of it is done and not going over the top this year as well think kids expect way more these days then I ever did as kid I was happy with a sindy doll and makeup.
we try not to go over the top. i dont feel the need to, my kids are very appreciative of everything they are gifted makes my life easier
dholly39 I think also kids if school age always feel like competing with others of who got the best gift etc but thankfully my kids are grateful and don't expect loads they're happy with reading books colouring books crafts the simple things.
Yes ive already started, just incase we have another lockdown at least ill have them incase shops shut down
Iβve bought quiet a few Thanks to all the great deals shared on LD. I like to buy things on a deal then they get more gifts for the money I spend on each of them.
Started in january but already gave to kids off bm tomorrow to stock up on some more this time lockdown or not they not having early
Your like me. I buy to put away for birthdays and Christmas and end up giving it to them.
hahaha i know loads of people like this. sometimes im half tempted to but im like...NO its worth it!! lol
I don't usually start until September. Though I do like to save a little bit throughout the year.
Yes I seriously started! I would never usually be in the mood this early but the extra time through lock down gave me more time to search.
Apart from the obligatory tubs of Quality street and Celebrations that keep getting eaten anyway, nothing as yet
We a have few bits, when the kids were young we used to buy throughout the year as and when the deals were on but then they were happy with most things we also used to pay a weekly amount into an hamper club for a food hamper and sweets, A large tin of Quality street would be around Β£20 . Now thou we wait to find out what everyone wants . Also these days there are sales and offers on right up until Christmas and most shops now clear their Christmas stock before Christmas , not like they used to years ago .
I've finished and I am in the process of wrapping them up, this is to stop me buying more, as visually I need to see how much I have bought for each person
I always start on the 26th of December each year as the bargains are there to grab hold of and being on LD is easily 1 of the best ways to get those bargains.
Not way not ever, way to early to even think about it. I hardly do any when I do finally think about Christmas. I have really cut down and no one has moaned. Saved myself loads of money. We now prefer just to have a meal together.
