How Do You Do Christmas?

I'm interested in people's views on Christmas is it a no expense spared or is it a strict budget and don't go over a certain amount I know everyone is different and we all have different income but still even if You had the money to spend would you still budget or would you splurge and buy whatever you wanted 
I have a sort of set budget per relative, but it's fairly flexible if I find something that would be a great present.
I have a certain amount that I don't go over and try to budget as much as possible. It is just one day and whilst it is special there is no point going into debt for it. Even if I had the money I would still budget.
i like this idea I have always gone well overboard at Christmas on Gifts for the kids but then realise after everything is open that they just don't need it or even want it most of the time. I would love try and have a set budget for each child I would like to think that my kids think more about who is around the tree rather than what.
I joined this group and others beginning of the year and have been trying to look at what i'm spending and on what, some things are just so silly expensive I look at the lol dolls and just think I don't think I would buy it even if i could afford it this year I am trying not to over compensate for the fact we don't have the family around for a big Christmas I just love the whole magic of Christmas
EricaBatten it is slightly easier for us as our son is only 1 so still abit too young to really understand and with family we have always had a set budget than none of us go over. We are spending it with family as this is our sons first proper Christmas but we still aren't going overboard.
EricaBatten The magic is being together happily, playing games eating a few luxury foods, watching a Christmas movie snuggled up. Kids get far too much these days and they don't thank you for it, just gives them a sense of entitlement. I bet you would see no difference in their love for you with one good present and a stocking than 10 presents costing the earth.
I buy the gifts earlier, from August.
Order the appetizers, side dishes and cakes...I pay half in October and the other half in December.
Like this I just need to think about the main dish and the tree in December.
I have went overboard with my kids in the past and they just didn't play with everything because there was too much so last year I limited how much I was willing to buy and they played and appreciated everything much more so I have done the same this year.
My kids have all grown up now so not much spent on them just a small gift but grand kids get something they want now and a few suprizes don't expect nothing in return but do like them to come mine on Xmas day for dinner as had autistic son that don't leave the house for nothing
I don't have a budget exactly, but I spend what I feel is right. Or rather, I buy gifts at discounts, with the perception that I've spent a bit more than I should have (but I've actually spent less).
We do the same every year and make it so that it's affordable for everyone. We always move to the budget of the lowest earner which seems to work well.
does anyone do park is it helpful, it is getting harder every year for us and the stress just gets to much would be great to do something where i could pay it through the year
We have a smallish budget for presents for children only. We don't go over the top on Christmas food but do like to get a bit in for guests. Iv been buying a bottle of alcohol and snacks each pay day for the last few months so its more affordable and will go aldi for the big shop!
