Christmas Crackers
Other
Yay or nay?
Let's all be honest now, there crap but why do we love them?! Is it just down to tradition?
It might be the fact i only pay £5 at most for a pack, but arent all the items on the inside cheap junk?
Agreed, the cheap christmas crackers are tacky and usually have tat inside, not worth it and quite demeaning lol...The more expensive ones have somewhat better items inside from experience but I'd rather buy gifts for not much more.
I've thought this for a long time - absolute rubbish. I've either made my own from scratch or bought an average priced box of crackers and refilled them. This year I'm filling them with a scratch card or two, miniature tongs for a cake maker/crafter to use, torch keyrings, travel tubes of beauty products (Sanctuary came in handly this year with their freebies) carefully wrapped perfume vial samples, lip balm chapsticks and a few other bits that will be more relevant to the recipient. I really enjoy doing this and start collecting bits in August or when I spot a cracker sized treat.
That's a brilliant idea, never thought of refilling cheap crackers.I have a bag of tiny freebies that I will use. I never liked the thought of making my own and putting toilet roll tubes on the dining table.
Auntielettie When I've made them myself I've either bought cracker kits or used kitchen roll middles or cut of lengths from the wrapping paper tubes. You can even buy the snaps separately now. Have some fun.
