What is Your Christmas Eve Tradition
Ask a Question
I was just wondering on peoples christmas eve traditions, I'm a grandma now but when my boys were little it would be bath time then new pjs slippers and dressing gown, lots of Christmas movies and sweet treats. I dont k ow whether to start something different now with my granddaughter who's 16 month old and I will have another granddaughter for Christmas too next year. Angry ideas guys I'd love to hear your stories
Well my kids are older now (17 & 19) but we still spend Christmas eve night with new pjs, lots of cheese / pate drinks & a couple Christmas movies. This is after we have spent all day visiting the in laws. Quality family time. Wouldn't want it any other way.
Every Christmas Eve I do baking with my girls then they have a shower pop on their new pjs and open their Christmas Eve boxes -inside they’ll be colouring book plus pens -smellies ,dvd ,fluffy socks ,sweets and novelty games and the like !we then all snuggle up to watch Father Christmas on norad doing his rounds
I JUST LOVE CHRISTMAS
I spend the day at home doing last minute bits. My husband and daughter go for a day out to see what last minute bargains they can get. In the evening we have lasagna and watch Christmas with the Kranks
We all spend the morning/afternoon walking the dog, wrapping presents, buying last minute presents, swimming in the inside pool, just normal stuff really - then, in the evening we have a small, picky dinner before the kids get their Christmas pyjamas. Then the youngest (8) has a bath before going downstairs and checking the NORAD santa tracker whilst the eldest (13) has a shower. Then we all watch a christmas movie. After, we send out youngest to bed with a stocking by his bed and a smile on his face, and let the eldest stay up until 11pm. Then we send him to bed after a hot cocoa to get him ready for sleep. I fill up both stockings at half twelve, then go to bed.
Either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day we watch movies and play monopoly. Or both. Home Alone and Miracles on 34h Street is a must. Besides spending quality time watching classic movies and listening to the same old Christmas songs. Its pretty standard.
Haha I’m not as organised as some so my Christmas Eve tradition is wrapping presents. Then I panic thinking someone’s gift isn’t enough.
