Think there will be a lot less office parties this year, and if home working becomes a regular thing also in the future.

I'm currently a stay at home mum but even when I worked full time I never went to the Christmas party and not will I in the future.

What a stupid question to ask.

Is there something wrong with you?

Have you have seen the recent stats when it comes to Covid?

We're heading for another lockdown because of the youngsters, so get your toilet roll and pasta in.

mazza2112 Exactly - especially coming from someone who asked the MOST STUPID question I have ever seen on this forum. (it was regarding an Iceberg lettuce).

I simply don't know why such rude attacks are tolerated. (they're not supposed to be).

"Members who are rude or abusive may be banned without warning".

mazza2112 I'm so sorry. I will not question anything again 😐

Do you realize how bad this second spike is going to get?

You carry on putting your head in the sand.

I'm absolutely sick of people like you having a go at someone like me because they think that Covid is going away.

Do you understand that that they was nearly 3000 cases recorded yesterday?

I hope that if we go into another lockdown that you run out of toilet roll.

TheChimp Asking people "Is there something wrong with you?" (in a very rude manner) Isn't the kind of "question" that should be asked. Even if they get drunk and bleach their face. (I refrained - I didn't need to ask☺).

A bit harsh TheChimp but in essence, I do agree with you. How entitled do you have to be to feel that this is top of your agenda right now? Be thankful you have a job. Thousands that have not are going through a super tough time. I think A party is the last of anyone's concern when you need to keep safe and put food on the table. Xx

TheChimp I was referring to the fowl language you used in your post. Glad to see you have decide to edit it too take out the fowl language. Also not very nice to refer to someone as stupid and asking if there is something wrong with them. Yes you can put your point forward in a less aggressive manner. Not sure why you continued to rant on to me about Covid as you don’t even know what my views on Covid are, as all I was doing was referring to your aggressive rudeness towards Bossclazz question. Doesn’t cost you anything to be nice 👍

mazza2112 I see that you're having a go at me, but not anyone else that has said that it's stupid.

Have you got a personal issue with me?

TheChimp I was just stating how rude and aggressive you was. I see you like to give it but can’t take it back. When I commented you was the only one that had been rude and used fowl language. Guess not everyone else saw your fowl language as you quickly decided to edit your comment.

mazza2112 I'm not fussed about what anyone thinks, but I know that people can get offended, so I edited my post.

davidstockport I'm going to have to mute you again.

We obviously don't get on and you posting this comment is having a go at me personally.

You're not liked here, so wind your neck in.

TheChimp You OBVIOUSLY don't like me - you don't seem to get on with many others either. For those who haven't noticed you seem to have issues with many others. Those who read the comments on this https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/old-el-paso-fajita-kit-600g-chicken-fillets-the-co-opwill see how insulting you are to someone asking a perfectly reasonable question. They will also see how foolish you make yourself look when you say you they probably had to look up the spelling of the word "hindrance" when they were replying to a comment where YOU had just used it.

You are a self confessed drunk (you said you were drunk when you bleached your face). You probably removed the obscenities from your still disgusting answer on this thread when you sobered out enough to realise that if it was reported you might get banned from this group just as you got banned from "the other place" on the same day you came here.

It's time you grew up and learned that you can't have your own way all the time, people are allowed to not agree with you without you insulting them, and if you think I am not liked, please note; I don't particularly care if drunken foul mouthed trouble makers don't like me.

I think a few others you seem to have issues with should see this.

mazza2112 JessHindle and perhaps Tom Kelsey might be interested too. I'm amazed your first comment on this thread was allowed to remain,

davidstockport Good to see it's all kicking off on here without me. Honestly everyone, stop bickering and David, telling on people via tagging... Come on mate. How old are you? TheChimp stop winding up David 😄

My analysis of this by the way - TheChimp is extremely frustrated by the general stupidity of people during the past few months so any hint of complacency causes that frustration to flare up, naturally. Whether the wording used was ideal, I'm not sure but it was a comment with passion and meaning behind it so let's not all get worked up. Life's too short.

I lost count of how many times I had people attack me on here simply for having a strong or polarising opinion. Believe it or not Mr Stockport, the little gang going round self moderating the place like it's a private members' club actually comes across as particularly unpleasant in itself. You think you're helping but it portrays a clique that makes others feel left out. It's one reason I just don't bother coming on much now, along with the fact it's plagued with the same old deals day in, day out as well.

I hope you're staying well and happy though.

This is, despite what a known offensive poster said, quite a good topic for discussion, yesterday evening I was taking part in an AGM there were more on ZOOM (I was one of them) than at the actual meeting.

The usual annual Christmas meal (usually in early December) came up for discussion. I am happy to report that a vast majority were not very interested in the idea.

TheChimp I am older than your parents - please don't think I am not aware of Covid, you did when I said, in March, that I had a chest infection so had been isolating before the lockdown say you hoped it was Covid. That was one of your disgusting attacks (that was removed) GROW UP!

You seem to be responsible for more topics on this forum being removed than any other member.

davidstockport I doubt very much if you're older than parents.

You need to get a grip and stop speaking down to people.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Fair play, you must be one of the most odious people on this site.

I am now muting you again because I can't cope with your absolute crap.

By the way everyone, if you find my comments offensive, please feel free to mute me 😉

TheChimp You recently said your parents were in their MID seventies. Was that just when you'd been drinking? I don't speak down to people although sometimes when their level seems very low there is little alternative.

I have nothing to be ashamed of - I wonder if your parents, regardless of their age, can say the same thing.

TheChimp Absolute crap?- I don't recall asking a totally mindless question about iceberg lettuce or bleaching my face whilst drunk. (I didn't comment on either)

I hope you see this before you mute me - others will.

To others: It does surprise me how he managed to see the "supposed" mindless crap I had posted if he had me muted.

It was just sounding out any views (last year there were over 30 of us - so early booking is essential) - My response was that we don't even know what restrictions will be in place in three months time. Most of us are elderly and I suspect most won't be interested even if restrictions are lifted,

davidstockport I guess there’s never any harm in planning. It gives people something to look forward to, even if it may be cancelled. Life has to go on, and if planning a celebration is how some cope, then so be it

Unless you only work with a handful of people, I can't see a lot of Christmas parties happening this year. Which will be another blow for venues. Large gatherings will likely still not be allowed. Plus, many struggling companies will simply not be able to afford to have them this year 🎅

I don't see many Christmas parties happening. The cases for Covid-19 are rising everyday and there will probably be lot of local lockdowns to say the least by that time

Ours has been cancelled, usually close to 200 people at ours too. I wouldn't have gone, not this year. Absolutely gutted to miss it because it sounds like one of the few Christmas parties that people actually enjoy! Although the free bar might have something to do with that 😉

I'm gonna miss not being able to go to my Xmas party. It won't happen for obvious reasons but I'm already missing the face to face banter and laughs I had with my work colleagues. Not seen any of them since March

I think if you are already seeing everyone at work everyday and coming into contact with them, a Christmas party won’t make any difference! If you’re working from home and able to self isolate, it seems stupid to arrange anything...

Sadly office parties won't happen for various reasons in my opinion. It won't just be down to the health risks but also because venues are not fully open for that sort of thing and companies may have less budget due to losses this year. I'll certainly take a massive hit myself due to running a business in the industry that makes a lot more money over Christmas and NYE. I have lost thousands already this year. I'm willing to adapt and try to make money from my other income streams though, if people do their bit, act responsibly and stop needing the government to put them on a leash.
