Clapping for the NHS
In the News
I have just been watching the BBC news and they did a piece on clapping for the NHS. I was very emotional and it reminded me of the feeling of solidarity, which seems to have disappeared since we had different Tiers.
I just want to say how much I appreciate the NHS staff dedication, please don't make this political, they can't do everything.....
I didn't clap for the NHS, it always coincided with my sons bedtime, but I will always be grateful for the NHS. They saved our sons live twice, have given him the most amazing care sinxce the day he was born, looked after me after my traumatic labour, looked after my mental and emotional health as well as physical health.
The staff work so hard and they go above and beyond their job description.
I watched the same or similar and felt just as you describe.... it was special - that feeling of solidarity and support for the NHS.
NHS employees generally do their best for all their patients despite their wage, but clap? No. That trend just made me cringe.
I show my appreciation by being thankful and respectful. You'd not catch me clapping like it was some cult.
Clapping for the NHS was trendy a few months ago. Whilst I am very grateful for our NHS, I am not one for following trends. I show my gratitude in my own ways.
