Which Classic Films Do You Think Are Better than the Remakes?

Ask a Question

Which classic films do you prefer to their remakes? I loved the original lion king so will be interested to see how that has changed when it comes out later this year.

I also love the original version of Miracle on 34th Street and whilst I think the remake was great, I don't think you can beat the classic.

Most original versions are better than the remake, at least since the 2000s. I didn't like the remakes of The Wicker Man, The Producers (which was based on a Broadway musical, that was based on the 1960s film), Total Recall, RoboCop, Get Carter, Point Break, etc. There are some really good remakes such as The Thing, The Fly and Little Shop of Horrors.

I like the original Spider-Man movies especially the first and second one with the Green Goblin and Dr. Otto Octavius.

Those are the Sam Raimi movies of Spider-Man, right? They're not remakes but a take on the story itself.

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is still my favorite Spidey flick.

It's hard to remember a remake that's better than the original movie.

Dumb and Dumber is a 90's classic comedy hit but the sequel was terrible. It felt like they tried really hard to emulate the original and the jokes just didn't land.

Still, I loved seeing Jim Carrey.

I'll also be watching the new Sonic movie because Jim Carrey looks to be hilarious as he was before. Sonic does look weird but he's going to be fixed.

The first Ghostbusters movie 1985 movie was much more enjoyable to watch than the new Ghostbusters movie 2016 Image

Well personally I loved the latest Star is Born, which I think is the 4th version. I must admit I find it hard to watch older movies I find the acting so over the top and they look so dated.

All of them are better than the new ones... Judge Dredd 1995 version is much more better than the 2012 one.

i cant say I've enjoyed any of the remakes. I prefer the original films. The films they make these days may look fantastic but lack the magic that makes them special
