Classic Old Comedy Programmes
Other
Back when i was little i spent a lot of time with my grandad watching programmes like steptoe and son, Porridge, Fawlty towers and last of the summer wine. I have also just started rewattching Blackadder. Do you have any old favourites?
The Dukes of Hazzard
The Wonder Years
Knight Rider
Dukes and Knight Rider eventually worn its uniqueness out as the series dragged out and it wasn't all that interesting anymore. Knight Rider should have just lasted one season 'cause the rest were pretty much crap, though TDoH was still fun regardless.
We watched the wrestling on Saturday afternoon with grandad and high chaparel and the Virginian
We have gone off vintage comedy but is there anyone on here who is old enough to remember the programmes i loved as a teen? The Big Valley, The Champions, Sergeant Cork, The Baron, Upstairs Downstairs? As a young mum there were loads of mini series that I loved: Captains and the Kings, Shogun, The Thornbirds, Rich Man Poor Man, Mistral's Daughter, Soldier Blue.............oh I could go on and on...... the memories!
It would be difficult to see a lot of the older comedy shows being made today in the current climate, such as 'Allo 'Allo! or It Ain't Half Hot Mum. Then again some of these shows have aged badly and I can't see them appealing to younger viewers watching them for the first time. I prefer watching older sci-fi shows such as Buck Rogers or Lost in Space. They are so incredibly cheesy, cheap looking and fun.
Talking about not remaking shows :- 'Love thy neighbour', 'Til death us do part' & 'In sickness and in health' but we still find them funny....
