I haven't seen one for many years (it was then at an ASDA) I think the thing you refer to is a machine that you tip all your loose change into - it counts it - deducts a commission for doing so - then pays you out in "lighter" currency.
I recall telling a friend who collected coins from his change that he would be financially better off spending his loose change as he went along than paying a commission to eventually have it counted.
Although a bit dated this might help explain better https://community.tes.com/threads/asda-coin-change-machine-thingies.115793/
Thanks for all sharing the valuable information it’s very helpful for us to know about the new thing each day
I can't believe that anyone would pay a machine to count their change for them unless, of course, you have such large quantities that it would take you weeks to count it all out yourself.
My local Asda has one in the foyer area, don't see many people using it thou. I know they charge a commission but not sure what. You would be better off paying for your shopping with the change at self scan till, where you can just throw your change in.
we used to do this every few months we would take the kids as they loved watching all the change mount up as it was being counted but now as there older i wouldnt use them easier to bag it up and put in my account now same as the car wash my son used to love sitting in the car and going through it so we would take him on a sunday [ my son is autistic ]
These machines do save time. We had a loose change pot at home and after a couple of years wanted to cash it in. We bagged it up and went to the bank....it was very heavy. The bank would only take 10 bags a day. This made me angry, and pedantic so I went back for many days with my haul, slowing up the queues. It would have been quicker at the supermarket even after the commission was taken, we had no idea beforehand how much money we had saved up.
Coin machine is to trade most of your coins Also some of them can trade in foreign coins.
In some store u get a receipt and have to take it to customer service, if u do not want to spend it in store.
