Who is Coming for Christmas
Ask a Question
I never invite anyone for Christmas, they just turn up. I would love to go away but have too many animals to expect someone to look after them all at Christmas. Do you have any unwelcomed guest at Christmas or is it more the merrier ?
I still go to my parents for christmas. My wife, 2 kids and I have xmas morning in our house so its just the 4 of us opening presents here. Then we go to my parents (usually my brother and sisters are there with their kids too) for more presents, dinner and play some games. Then in the evening we go to my wifes parents (wont be happening this year because i have argued with her father - again) so her mother is going to come up to us for a few hours She did mention coming to stay with is on christmas eve the other day - but its not happening
Our family lives in Northern Ireland and the highlands, so they aren't able to just show up! We sometimes go to them for christmas, sometimes just have it at our house just the 3 of us. Not sure yet what we are doing this year.
I love having a lot of people round at Christmas I have 5 brothers 4 brother in-laws 1 sister in law my daughter husband grandson and 3 nieces and 2 nephews and they all come around Christmas Day it wouldn’t feel right i don’t think if they didn’t most of them stay for dinner too
I don't understand how people could just show up, but I'd never drop by anyone's house unannounced or want anyone to do that to me, on any day, let alone Christmas. What if you didn't cook enough? Or you cooked too much and nobody turned up? I don't like the idea of not being able to plan for that.
Maybe worded a bit wrong. Family assume they are coming to my house for Christmas without me actually inviting them. They basically tell me they are coming so I do know how many.
eyeballkerry ah OK, that makes more sense. Less stressful if you know it is happening!
We usually have a pretty quiet Christmas with just direct family. Always seems to make it a lot less stressful than if we had all the extras!
I like to have my parents around the weekend before to see the kids. This leaves the actual Christmas day just for me and the kids or on alternate years just for me alone.... ah peace!!
