When you enter a competition,do you guys tick the box to receive future marketing/e-mails from whoever the comp sponsor is etc.If not,do you think it makes any difference to your chances of winning or it it just irrelevant?.
Hello. I only tick those boxes when it is absolutely necessary to do so. In fact, I have won many prizes from competitions which don't require you to sign up to receiving marketing emails. So good luck!
Yup I also only tick them when it's compulsory.
I then tend to have an "unsubscribe" session every six months or so, getting rid of those newsletters whos competitions have long since ended.
If you find you are receiving too many emails from companies you could set up a new email account for free and use that as one to enter in the boxes for completions so you don’t have so many coming through to your main email account! 
Same as others have said I only tick to receive emails/newsletters when it's compulsory, even then I usually unsubscribe after a few emails
