Confidence Not to Clean

Ask a Question

After months of having to clean/ quarantine anything that comes in to the house do you think you will go back to trusting that touching things isn't too bad there will always be germs

I think many people may continue washing hand regularly and be more aware of cleaning surfaces etc, which in turn will lower transmission rates for all contagious diseases. However, I for one will not be sorry to discard masks as they really play havoc with sunglasses and specs and I cannot breathe easily as I have bad nasal congestion.

Government officials treat people like idiots by saying "wash your hands," "be clean," and "stay safe." Those are some of life's three most important aspects.

The stickers on the floor does feel like they're instructing where a cattle of herd should go. Go here, don't go there, follow the lines...

Yeah I agree but what scares me is some actually need to be told to wash hands, be clean and stay safe.

But you really would be surprised how many people DO need simple instructions. Although I have to admit even when given they are incapable of following them. Have you seen the programmes where teams of council workers have to go in and clean homes where rooms are full of rubbish, dog faeces on the floor, no room to move etc. Hoarders are a different thing.

I know I sound like a long playing record but one year at Easter when I had no plans I was asked by my boss to go to a person's home every day for the 4 days at a different time and check that she had fed the kids, made sure they were washed and dressed and that the home was reasonably tidy. If things were no better at the end of 4 days she risked losing her kids.

Some people are just incapable of running a home to an acceptable (not spotless) standard and it really is a case of wiping your feet on the way out!

"Everything is going to be alright." has a creepy vibe to it.

There are a lot of strange things happening (especially with the ones who keep calling others "selfish" even though they aren't). Getsome

PhilipMarc I think it all has to be with people being responsible.

Smoking weed and ignoring the law is not the answer.

Lynibis Thank you for your insight. It also baffles me when people leave their homes/car so dirty it smells, nothing can be found at sight, you can see dirtiness that is not normal. I feel bad for kids being raised in difficult households like that.

Smoking weed? They were already doing that before this mess began. I personally don't mind nor care, it's not my health.

Besides, weed can be good in certain methods. TheChimp

We always did wash our hands on re-entering the house anyway, if fact we probably are both fanatical about it. What we don't understand is why others don't wash their hands as much as we do? We pop outside, perhaps to the bin or to do something in the garden and always wash our hands coming back into the house.

The thing that really surprised me was the government encouraging people to wash their hands but not mentioning that the towel you dry them on should also be changed at least daily....
