Convicted Post Office Workers Have Names Cleared

In the News

Can you imagine being imprisoned for a computer glitch ! You would have thought someone in the Post Office would have noticed how widespread this issue was rather than assuming people were just untrustworthy.

Glad they are free but it is too late for some of them. the person's who said they had done it won't go to prison for wrongfully accusing them.

They DID realise how widespread the issue was and were also aware there was a problem with the IT system, but they proceeded with the prosecutions regardless. Those poor people have had their lives ruined. They were allocated compensation of 55 million, but after legal costs, this amounted to just 12 million!

The person who was in charge of the Post Office at the time, and whos decision it was to proceed with prosecutions was given a CBE when she retired!!

It's dreadful how many people this happened to, and how long it's taken to get some kind of justice.
