My son is 18 months so when it is hot he just runs around in a nappy! If you have a fan put a bowl of ice at the bottom of it, makes it much cooler, like air conditioning.

I have always kept a pack of wet wipes in the fridge. They nice and cool to wipe them down not just for summer but I use them all year round to cool temp down if Ill perfect for adults too.

Those cup drinks you can buy in most £1 shops and supermarkets are great think you get get 12 for around £1, some people call them jublees? They last for ages too as they one big block of ice.

For cooling them down at bedtime, I used to live in Australia and hated not been able to sleep at night with the heat, the thing that worked for me and my kids now is get a muslin cloth or a hand or tea towel, hold under the cold tap so it all gets wet, wring as much water out as you can and just lie with that either on your head or on your body - really works for my kids its cool but not too cold and enough to help them sleep

emmabeckz i love a jublie was off pick up kids one summer and there is a shop 2 mins away went in looking for one. The shop keeper never knew what one was so I said picking up a carton you know these if you pop them in your freezer you can easily sell them for double the money. Next day there they were 40p she was shocked how fast they were selling.

Usually just get the paddling pool out, make sure he has plenty of fluids to drink and ice lollies/ice poles

You can make similar lollies with fruit juice and could also add some chopped up fruit too, I like to make lemonade lollies too!
