Could LD offer a list of functional discount codes?

Feedback

Was looking for discount codes to use on GameSeek but all that I came across were already invalid though yet "active" as per the websites.

Hey how do you foresee this being different than our current voucher code section? latestdeals.co.uk/vouchers

Wouldn't it be possible for LD to gain vouchers directly from retailers in some form? I knew that LD already had a Vouchers section but it's not quite what I was looking for.

Base

GameSeek

Nintendo Store

GAME

Tesco Direct

Grainger Games

These would be the retailers I'd be after for discount codes if they have any currently to make products a bit cheaper in some way.

Tesco Direct gives you Tesco Clubcard Points and if you collect them you can get things free. Cashback websites give you back money if you purchase game from GAME 3.3% or Nintendo Store 6.6% Base 2.2% from Quidco.

Topcashback gives back 3.5% from GAMES, 5.75% from Nintendo and 2.3% from Base. They usually pay the money back after sometimes and you need to collect a certain amount to get back to your account, but it is still money saving and you can save a lot till the end of the year.

I hope I could help you to save money!

AgnesFaludi Thanks. I'm aware of TCB/Quidco but if there's ever some voucher to use that's always helpful too.

Hi Rockman we've been thinking of integrating some sort of automated feed of vouchers into LD - we're just not quite sure the best way to do it nor when to do it (the big ol' list of new features keeps growing 😄)

You're quite right that we can get some vouchers automatically from retailers. The ideas we had pretty much boiled down to:

  • Having a character/robot that posted vouchers automatically as if a user
  • Having a section at the top/bottom (like HUKD do) with the automated feed of vouchers and then the user submitted vouchers underneath

Would be good to hear your thoughts on the above options (and any other ways of improving the voucher section you can think of!)

Kelsey That all seems great!

Want to point out one thing, though:

Having a section at the top/bottom (like HUKD do) with the automated feed of vouchers and then the user submitted vouchers underneath

The vouchers there are basically pointless since they're invalid or unusable for the current product. LD doing it right would definitely be a step up on the right direction.

Rockman hey when you say 'for the current product' do you mean that they list vouchers alongside a product, but they're irrelevant because you can't use them for it?

How do people feel about having an automated element to this? We're very, very conscious that LD is first and foremost a community and forum.

Tom Yes, that's exactly it. People on HUKD have become numb to the voucher at the bottom because it just doesn't work and it's pretty much irrelevant.

By the way, making users who give a deal a heart as a 'someone' works out better so there's no favouritism in any way. Bash was right. 🙂
