Creating a Great Chat Topic

Other

I just noticed that the only points awarded on this chat section will be for:

CREATING A GREAT CHAT TOPIC - 20 points - maximum 2 a day.

I personally really welcome this new innovation. We can hopefully see this chat section used for chatting and those who posted just for the points with pointless (pardon the pun) things will become a thing of the past.

Thanks to Tom , Kelsey and anyone else responsible for this change.

Hi davidstockport that's great that they have change it. No more the same topic. When dos it starts. I did not know about this. Well done Tom and Kelsey for doing it. Now it should be a lot better. 😎

I noticed it a short time ago - It has apparently started. I'm a little confused though I got 20 points before this topic had received any replies. (so can hardly call it GREAT) perhaps things haven't been adjusted to stop the points yet maybe Tom or Kelsey might look into it. I don't mind if my points are reduced.☺

davidstockport Well i would mind if my points are reduced. I was just doing the maths and I think it will take me to the end of the year to get my next voucher. My topics don't normally get replies. I think this site might be edging towards the end of the points. I can see these going completely. Like I said elsewhere that was a huge draw in joining and was one of the pros of this site. You could interact and get vouchers. I can see these going over time. I can't people kicked up such a fuss about this chat section.

ShellyAnn Hi regarding taking to end of the year for next voucher and reducing points. davidstockport was referring to not minding if his points for starting this topic were reduced should he not have received the required amount of replies. As we have established he misunderstood and this has not yet started. He would have got the Points anyway as there are now lots of responses.

If you are not posting then of course it will take longer to get a voucher. In the last month (or so) you have posted 10 topics which is 200 points, had you done 2 a day that would be 1000. Out of those 10, 6 received substantial replies. We all post topics that get no replies and if people aren't interested what can you do? The only thing possible, more interesting topics!

The points will not end up going or LD will effectively end as there will be no incentive to post. Had you posted 3 deals per day instead of 1 since joining you would have thousands of points by now, same with comps. Comments alone are not enough. However, we all use the site as and when we can and as you say below, some do not have time to keep coming on here. But your second comment would seem to suggest that 2 quick comments is preferable to waiting one hour. But that encourages boring nonsensical topics. It is fine if you feel that is ok but others prefer meaningful chat.

Horses for courses, but those who 'kicked up a fuss' were fed up with nonsense and topics coming thick and fast that disappear too soon.

A comment gets 20 points, max 5 per day, 1 deal can get you 100 per day, 300 per day if you post 3.

Lynibis They should just remove points from chat altogether, let's face it, it's just spam and general chit chat, there are other ways to earn back those 40 points for 2 chat topics per day anyway.

Hi davidstockport that was quick.. still waiting for mine. Let you know when it come. 😎

deepcore I don't mind either way but I will continue to use it either way. To you it may seem like spam and general chit chat but I love chatting to others who are of a like mind. However I do not want to waste my time on cats v dogs or whole milk v skimmed milk etc. I like meaningful, intelligent chat and I am sure there are plenty of intelligent people on here who can talk about subjects other than point gathering topics.

You must have a very poor memory since it's been like this for ages.

The only thing they changed is the 1 hour time limit between chat topics.

So yeah people can still spam 2 topics per day for 2x 20=40 points, they just have to wait 1 hour longer in between. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

let's be honest its going to be harder to get vouchers here than toluna! Time limits between posts. we dont' all have all day to keep coming back and forth and post. I thought this was a freebie/comp community not social media and I think some people want this place to turn into the new facebook where they can meet people, socialise and hey why not try and hook up and date. Ok fine. I'm very live and let live. If that's what people want to turn this into then fine.

Unlike your manners - there is absolutely nothing wrong with my memory.

I am not in the habit of checking the points awarded for certain things so had nothing to FORGET,

On the contrary it is perhaps you who might have memory concerns - you seem to have forgotten to even acknowledge any of the comments on https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/1-hour-time-limit-chat-topics which unlike most of your topics created some interest - You also seemed to have forgotten to apologise for the totally unfounded accusations of "open to fraud" on my first deal.https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/print-own-money-off-vouchers-farmfoods

There are some other things you seem to have forgotten - but I can't mention them here.

Hi guys πŸ™‚

Whilst we are still exploring the idea of additional criteria to earn points in the chat section (such as the topic needing to get 3+ replies before points are awarded). Nothing is live yet. Sorry to disappoint!

We want to see how the hour between topics plays out before we change anything else.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! πŸ‘

davidstockport hi David, it has always been this way, maximum 2 topics per day, for 20 points each, but as Kelsey said, they will hope to change how the Points are given soon.

davidstockport yeah but you're making it sound like this 2x20 points per day limit is something new, it's been like this forever!

Like

deepcore I tend to recollect here was previously some mention of points for commenting - 20 points for each reply (up to five a day) so as said earlier your memory isn't too good.

The way it's worded now only those creating a great chat topic will get any points.

davidstockport Listen for once OK? I know you hate being proved wrong due to your ego, nothing has changed with regards to points, it's always been like this.

They only changed the interval between chat topic creation to 1 hour.

Tom Kelsey Deepak can confirm this.

Also check this http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/points

The page is still the same as 10 days ago, nothing has changed!

Bloody hell, talking to you is like trying to crack open a macadamia nut with just my bare fingers.

deepcore please do not bring me into this. David made a genuine error which I myself have often done. I don't know how old you are but if you have elderly parents I hope you can be a little more patient. I am in my mid 60s and technology often leaves me behind.

Lynibis I have nothing against you, infact I thank you for clarifying his error and not taking his side for once.

I am somewhat irked because he is saying I have poor memory when clearly he has made an error with this chat topic. 🀣 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

davidstockport yes quite right, but replying counts as a comment and you can do 5 per day = 100 points. What may happen is that the topic poster will get their points after X amount of responses, but the responders will continue to get their points if they haven't reached their maximum. I am afraid I always do as I enjoy chat and this was the point I was trying to make to ShellyAnn that posting for points should be a bonus, not the be all and end all as there are so many other ways to make your points. I see chat as an extra little section where I can interact with other members and have a nice chat over a subject we all find a common interest in.
