Croutons
Ask a Question
Is there anyone apart from myself having issues when I ask staff in the supermarkets if they have them? Nobody seems to know what it is.
You are talking to the wrong people! Croutons are not exactly unheard of....you sprinkle them on soup or over chicken Caesar salad.
Ignored dot com. Anyway. They are out there. Check at bread stick bits or the sauce section.
Try in the sauce aisle near salad dressings I know Sainsbury’s also do their own fresh ones near the actual salads. We love them in salad or, if you have Prime these are good value cheaper than the shops

What a coincidence... have leftover bread and just googled 'can you freeze homemade croutons' as worried that making & freezing them will result in soggy bread when defrosted! Apparently not!
As we eat caesar salad alot I buy them all the time. In my main Tesco they are next to the bags/ tubs of salad.
My mum makes her own when she has soup but she uses a certain bread to make them and she says they're lovely. I think the last time i saw crutons in a supermarket was on the morrisons salad bar
