How Do You Cure Hiccups ?

Ask a Question

My son has hiccups and I told him to put a cold key down his back, as the shock would cute his hiccups. He asked me why I was saying random stuff, I said it was a well known cure. Is it?

I'd never heard of the cold key remedy until I read this, but my wife just told me that it is a 'cure'.

I don't see how it would help to be honest, but give it a go and see what happens.

My mum used to put a cold key down my brother's back to stop his nose bleeds. I didn't think of doing it for hiccups. I'll give it a go.

The "cure" is use is to drink minuscule sips of water quite fast. Works 80% of the time I'd say.

Have a look at this clip from King of Queens, it's rather funny and you might want to buy an air horn?!

I hate getting hiccups. I tend to hold me breath and fill my nostrils and cheeks full of air and hold tight for dear life. Repeat until they go away

Holding my breath always works! But my 5 week old gets hiccups everyday and nothing seems to help him 🤣 he doesn’t quite understand yet to hold his breath...
