A Dad Goes Viral after Posting Photo of Sons School Meal
In the News
What a disgusting meal
I'm not surprised he went online to post this:
I'm sure something like this doesn't happen in UK schools?
I fondly remember my school meals.
Does anyone have bad experience in the UK?
That is absolutely shocking!
My fiancé and I often reminisce about how much we loved our school dinners (this was in the 80s). My parents are Chinese so to me things like Shepherds pie and Jam sponge pudding with custard were very exotic
That does not look very appetizing ... My son's school(junior) caters for all children's needs, vegetarian, vegan, allergies,i must give them praise...my son is so fussy though and takes a lunchbox
My daughter's secondary school has a canteen, various meals,I had to put a cap on her spending,(she used to buy cakes for mid morning snack) not too sure if the meals are overall healthy, but she has her main meal at home x
We used to joke at school how bad the meals were but compared to that they were pretty amazing. The bottom right looks a bit like faeces although I guess they are meant to be something like chicken in breadcrumbs. The top left looks like David Dickenson's fingers minus finger nails. A generous portion of super cheap rice and a processed drink and small dessert. Interesting to know who provides the catering and how much they get paid for person.
Any school that gives that to a child should be utterly ashamed you would get better fed in prison
I believe a few people commit minor crimes to get in prison and off the streets knowing they have a warm cell with three meals a day and other facilities provided, as you say M, better than the school meals
My children complain about the lunch they have at school, poor quality, bad tasting and little choice. I always send them with something extra to make sure they do not end up hungry, some days they only eat what I send with them.
Thats awful, my son must be lucky as he likes his school food, they have a deli bar and a menu that changes each term.
A deli bar? Wow which school is that? Harrow?
When I was at school we got obese woman with large metal scooping weapons which if you kept quiet would scoop mash, beans or whatever onto your plate rather than hit you with it. The fat kids would only get 2/3rds scoops of food and the thin kids might get a scoop and a third. That seemed to be how it worked.
Nope just a very regular school, BonzoBanana I wonder if it's a council thing? And each area is different maybe. They have set meals or they can use the deli bar which is a bit like the salad bar at a harvester I suppose. It's all meant to be healthy to, so they make chocolate brownies with beetroot ect.
I thought this must be an isolated incident, but saw this in the Metro today Mum's anger over 'ridiculous' panini served to son for school lunch
The cost of this panini was £1.80

When my oldest son was I'm primary school the teacher once came out with him after school and told me he'd only had a slice of dry bread for lunch as there was nothing left for him (he'd been sent to deliver a folder to another teacher which made him late for lunch) I was absolutely furious!
