Thank you very much, I do try and keep them topical but am human so I fail sometimes too. 
I would never even think of buying these for my son! You never buy anything as a toy that is small enough for them to swallow! Hopefully the kids that needed surgery are all ok.
Things like this is crazy. Have you seen the other trend going around of people eating tablets out of a pregnancy test thinking they are the morning after pill. When in fact its similar to silica gel just there to absorb moisture 
No I hadn't heard about the other trend, I don't know how all these things start, it's madness.
Oh for goodness sake, you teach your kids not to put stuff in their mouths. I swear kids are getting dafter as the days pass, all because it's a 'fad' to pretend you have fake piercings?
I agree with you to a point, but some younger children are still testing out the world around them and it's almost automatic to put things in your mouth.
