Dangerous Products Remain for Sale on Wish.
In the News
I thought that I would flag this up to LD members, just encase they have bought hair clippers or hair dryers as there is a danger of electric shock or https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-55934656
It should perhaps be mentioned that the hair slippers are only suitable for people who like having their feet tickled
I hate auto correct. But I did find hairy slippers for sale on EBay
Why would someone make these, I wouldn't have thought there was a big market for them!
I hadn't heard of them until I saw this news story I thinks its just wrong that they continue to sell dangerous items
I was just talking to someone today that bought a ring from Wish, it had tarnished within a couple of hours of wearing it and stained her fingers, I don't know she expected from a ring that probably only costs coppers.
I've seen Wish product reviews on youtube etc and they never seem to be quite as described. I don't understand how its legal to buy there as don't credit cards protect against fraud and most of their products aren't as described. You buy a tablet with 4GB and 32GB storage with a 1080p screen and it comes with 1GB, 8GB and a 480p screen. Much of the firmware would give false information.
It goes without saying if you buy from Wish it is a personal import which bypasses important safety certification.
Aliexpress are bad enough but Wish take it to a whole new level. Saying that I have never bought a single item from Wish myself.
Thanks for the warning, I am fairly wary of purchasing anything from them anymore. I purchased some items from wish years ago and the experience wasn’t too bad, but a few years ago I ordered a cat scratching post and the seller put a fake tracking number which marked the item as delivered, but the tracking number was for a completely different address miles away which the seller was obviously repeatedly using and not sending the products! The customer service was shocking considering the evidence was obvious in my opinion! I did get a refund eventually but not used them since!
I've had exactly the same scam done to me at aliexpress luckily aliexpress dealt with it ok. I'm down in the South West but the tracking number showed it was sent to the reading sorting office so showed the seller was fraudulent. Much to my annoyance the seller is still on aliexpress though or at least was the last time I checked. Aliexpress don't care.
I avoid websites like Wish and Aliexpress because they’re so unethical. The people who make the products/ clothing sold don’t get paid a fair wage and they regularly steal designs from small businesses
Sadly that is the same everywhere many products on the high street and Amazon etc are manufactured by exploited workers be it in China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India etc. People want cheap products. However the stuff that retails over here has to go through certification to be legal and safe to sell but you can bypass that with aliexpress and Wish which you import yourself.
BonzoBanana this is why I buy from ethical and sustainable companies and try to avoid the big companies like Amazon etc
