Just turned on tv and a Danny Kaye film is showing. I used to love that guy when I was a kid, especially when he played Hans Christian Anderson. I doubt many members of LD have heard of him but he was certainly one of my favourite stars back in the day.
It's good to view a feel good movie, especially if it's one from where you are a kid, it brings back other memories.
I'd say Danny Kaye was quite famous however personally he didn't really make the sort of films I enjoy, I'm certainly not into musicals normally. I remember him in the reboot of the Twilight Zone it was one of his last performances, it was an episode about time but is years since I've seen it.
In the film When World's collide the main actor I can never remember the name of and I always call him the Danny Kaye lookalike.
I probably wouldn't enjoy them nowadays, viewing audiences are far too sophisticated for the simple delights of H C Anderson, the ugly duckling, the emperor's new clothes etc but as a youngster I loved them. I doubt kids today would give them a second look!

I'm surprised White Christmas hasn't had a viewing in our house yet. That always seems a festive favourite and even my kids like it.
It will definitely be on one of the channels on one of the days, probably more than once lol.
