I was born in 1989 so wasn't around for this era, but do enjoy darts these days. For me personally I want to see people excel at things like sport so I've got to say I do think I prefer it when they are more professional

For me, I think I prefer the old ways. Everything seems a bit too clinical these days. Let's face it darts is a pub game where drinking etc takes place. All the fun is being sucked out of the world .... we are so regulated these days.

It was better In the 80`s anyways. Not just for Darts but just everything. Even smoking In Pubs. Nowadays we are being controlled by ridiculous laws just because the Gov can.

Emerge11 i think you have a point in general about ridiculous laws, however I don’t think them banning smoking in pubs was a bad thing at all.

The spectators still drink while it's on. Glad smoking is banned from indoor places it's grim. The dart players drinking while in a tournament on tv is a shame but you can see why they don't do it as drunken people on live tv can be disastrous

I neither play or watch darts but if I did it would be a load of blokes with beer bellies in a smoky pub.I'm just an old fashioned girl lol.

They still drink now just not on stage. It’s more entertaining in terms of matches but that’s because how the game has moved on and the technology

Darts in the 80's was awesome, jockey Wilson, Eric bristow ect.. household names unlike most of today's players, commentators were much better too, watched the world championship every year until it ended a few years back, I don't watch it now

I used to play darts when i was younger and had a dart board at home to practice on

I used to find i played better after a pint or two when in an amateur pub match , i think the beer took the edge off the nerves

We've been watching the old Bullseye series 🎯 there was one man on there smoking while playing darts 😂 it looks so strange! We're darts fans anyway always have been but I enjoy the older and newer darts.

I used to watch the likes of Bobby George, Eric Bristow & Keith Dellar but I prefer watching Luke Littler & company, the atmosphere is electric.

My partner & daughter watched the Darts in Sheffield last year & really enjoyed it...I looked at getting tickets for this year but we have too much on with different events booked..

As we get older we are into making memories.

I remember the smoky snooker halls - it’s certainly not an atmosphere you’ll find anywhere in modern day living
