Deep-Fried Mars bars.....Yay or Nay??
Ask a Question
Has anyone tried a deep-fried Mars bar?
I haven't but I'd be tempted to if I knew where to get one!
I'm intrigued about how they taste!!
Im the same as you , wanted to try one for years. The thought of warm gooey chocolate in batter Mmm
I really can't imagine that they are very appealing although I understand they are in certain areas of the country, but they certainly aren't to me. Scotland seems to be the place
Imnotcheap I had them in a Chinese restaurant for dessert. The batter was thin and crispy...not greasy at all.
Perhaps that's the reason. Thicker batter will hold more oil.
Yep! I've had them a few times actually, they are quite greasy but so nice as the chocolate is melted but still in a crisp batter
Again never tried one but I'd definitely give it a go. I once had deep fried ice cream which was a strange one.
seasider71 ah.....oh well Thailand sounds like a place I would definitely want to visit, even if not for the deep fried icecream
Never tried it, but it doesn't sound very appetizing. I have never seen this on sale anywhere I think it's a Scottish thing ?
I got one from my local chip shop I am in north east England,it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but it is very sickly so I struggled to eat it all.
KatieRobertson I can imagine I would also struggle with a full size bar. Maybe they should make Mars bars bite size
I like deep fried Mars Bars, other confectionery and pizzas, but they're not exactly healthy. An occasional treat.
Firedragon what's your opinion on this Scottish treat? I know that you have a sweet tooth and are pretty much a chocolate addict!!
