Deepseek and Other AI Systems
Ask a Question
So Deepseek has caused a stir in the tech world. I’ve not tried it, but it’s supposed to be very advanced without costing an arm and a leg
And a colleague of mine admitted yesterday he submitted an application for work using ChatGPT - he is younger, so I know it’s perhaps what the younger generation do these days, but I cringe at the idea of not doing things myself
Do you use AI systems and is this the future?

I know other people who have used chatgp to write their cv/cover letter and been successful, which makes me think why bother doing it myself. Interesting you mention Deepseek which has been in the news over the past few days for spreading disinformation.

I know the AI option on ebay to write listing information is utter garbage. It is completely unrealistic and overly positive about the item and when I encounter such text it completely puts me off the item and I have no idea about the condition of the item being sold.
When I ask AI about stuff I often get a very impressive answer that is well written but there is little meat to the answer, it has pulled in lots of different info and melted it into its answer but often the information is not particularly useful. I asked AI if it was difficult to install an ebike kit on a bicycle and I got a lot of text but none of it included information on the battery which I guess is the most important and critical part of a ebike conversion as the most dangerous component but the battery wasn't even mentioned.
I would never want co-pilot on Windows. It massively slows down your PC, its more spyware and creates more security issues. If I do use AI I want it to be processed remotely not on my own computer. I never sign into Windows with a email account or use Edge as I don't want Microsoft to know anything about me. I don't want them to have data which they can monetize. That's not to say my data isn't monetized as I do sign into Chrome though but I do try to limit how much data I give out and Microsoft has shown to be completely irresponsible in how much data they collect.

BonzoBanana yes I have noticed this, no actual product description and no condition ect.. It put me off buying it, I wanted a backpack, no mention of size ect... Just overrated AI description about how it's good for mountaineering ect... Lol
