Dehydration

Hi @OneyedRaven that's not good. I worked in a call centre once where we we were allowed travel mug type cups so if they fell over, they wouldnt spill. Do you have anyone that you could suggest that you have non spillable drinks at your work station to? I think legally your employer is supposed to supply unlimited water as often as you want. Studies have proved that hydrated workers are more productive. Hope it gets sorted.

Coukd you nip off to the toilet and get a drink from there, if its suitable for drinking of course. You could leave some disposable cups by the sink. Otherwise i would ask my boss what i can do, they have a duty of care and cannot refuse you a drink if you are becoming dehydrated

OneeyedRaven employers are legally obliged to provide drinking water for employees. You should complain to HR or someone in authority

• There's a clear duty on employers to provide drinking water at work, under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992. The Regulations state that an "adequate supply of wholesome drinking water" must be provided, and that it be readily available at suitable and clearly marked places. This could be provided either with a supply of suitable cups, or as a drinking fountain.

I‘m sure it’s illegal to deny you drinking water at a workplace. Even in supermarkets I notice cashiers have at least a bottle or a flask at hand, and they get to sip whilst serving customers. Unless you work in factory conditions where the machinery used prohibits you from having water nearby (and even then you are permitted to take regular breaks to have some water), then there’s no reason why you can’t

In some work it is impossible, because the employer not let people take water with them.

Also u not allow to go all the times to drink and pee after....taking lots of break...it is like fasting....just survive it.

You should be allowed water at least at work maybe not right next to electrical equipment but surely you should be able to have a water bottle on you and be able to out it somewhere close

Not sure if you are male or female but either way can you not keep a drink in your handbag or even carrier bag, with lunch? Drink a pint before work another at lunch and another before leaving for home that should do it, though I agree with others who say it is wrong to be denied water at work.

Are you in the UK? This seems pretty extreme. I wouldn't even let a dog go without water.

I work 10 hour days with just a half an hour break, but i habe a water bottle i ise throughout the day and you should be allowed that at your desk, also if you're predominately at a desk or computer aren't you meant to have regular breaks?

You could probably do with getting some rehydration drinks at the moment as it sounds like if you are getting headaches and not sleeping it a problem.

Something on these lines to restore your hydration

Dioralyte Blackcurrant 6 Sachets

Then to keep on top of it in future drink when you can and perhaps consider swapping from water to isotonic drinks.
