Diets Do They Work?

Ask a Question

Diets can be a fad or they can work, which diet has been most successful for you and did you do a lot of exercise with it? Do they work in the end?

They are a fad. In order to lose weight you just need to eat less and move more.

I'm on Weight watchers, its not a diet so much as a lifestyle so they tell us. I have succeeded in the past but you can still put weight on, if you stop doing it and go back to old habbits

It depends, and some are better than others. If you want to lose weight rapidly and for a short period, a lot of the extreme diets work. However, for long-term healthier ways to maintain a healthy weight, just be conscious of what you eat, and spend more time being active

The best way for me to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more. If I go on a diet it just makes me want to eat more of the things I'm not allowed, so they don't work for me.

I’m on a diet right now... i call it a diet, but it’s going from eating a LOT of processed junk food and sugar, to eating under 1500 calories and only healthy foods.. when I was younger I did this frequently and I always lost the weight really quickly, but as I’ve got older it has definitely been harder to lose weight. I’m only on day 4, so I’ve not weighed myself but I hope this is working!!

Not for me personally but friends have tried them and they work.

Any diet works if you stick to it. As long as you're in a calorie deficit you will lose weight. Just find one that works for you.

The main ingredient you need in a diet is willpower if you have that any will succeed pretty much. I have it at times but other times I just can't find it. Processed sugar is the real demon of modern eating, avoiding that as much as possible will certainly help. I try to avoid eating until 4pm or later and then only eat perhaps for a 2-3hr window this has huge health benefits beyond losing weight including extending your lifespan and fighting cancer, there is a lot of science behind it but again requires willpower. I've gained a lot of weight over Christmas so I will definitely be eating less and trying to have fasting periods. I will also get back into cycling soon.

I find just cutting out snacks and having smaller portions works. it’s not a diet just eating less. that way you can still have the unhealthy foods but just less of them.

Weight watchers for me. I know I can do it, I know because I have before and sadly let myself get back to bad eating but it works so thats the way I'm going... as soon as I've eaten the chocolates 😃

They don’t work. Apart from healthy eating and exercise that’s the only way to keep the weight off and lose it. Easier said then done I know x
