Yes ,exactly - I've made a mental note never to buy from Wowcher or Groupon again for their profiteering pricing of toilet rolls ,hand sanitiser and face masks a month or two back .

The sad thing is that many members were "liking" those profiteering deals !

I doubt they will notice I'm not ordering or that I have unsubscribed to their emails but if a few thousand of us did likewise they certainly would and maybe even learn that greed does not pay in the long run .

It’s disgusting. It’s supposedly illegal but there’s people selling their stories to the paper actually bragging how much they’re making through profiteering with nothing being done about it.

It's capitalism.

Capitalism is being in business to sell your goods at market value, profiteering is deliberately selling goods at highly inflated prices when there are shortages, way above market value. It is called the black market and was certainly illegal during the war!

Lynibis Supply and demand, one of the basic principles of capitalism.

The problem here is ethical and moral, a different topic.

As with anything you can shop around to find a better deal with someone else. Although, there are PPE manufactures that also treat their shop floor staff very badly while raking in a fortune due to COVID-19, for example https://www.channel4.com/news/revealed-shocking-conditions-in-ppe-factories-supplying-uk
