Does Anyone like Bubble Tea?
Ask a Question
It’s become very popular here in London, with loads of places popping up to serve a variety of the tapioca ball drinks
I’m not really a fan myself, with prices so high I’d rather have a tea
I never had that before but I have tried Lapsang souchong Tea which is horrible in taste and feels like you have smoked dozens of cigarettes even though I have never smoked.
lol yes it’s one of the smokey Chinese teas, popular with the older generations. I quite like it myself, mainly as I quite like bitter flavours. Bubble tea is usually made with milk tea, but these days it comes in a wide range of flavours, so I guess it looks quite attractive, like a dessert
zerocenturyzero I can’t fault the presentation, as it does look very appealing. I guess they do utilise colours and textures well. But I don’t really like the tapioca or jellies much
Love it. Taro milk tea is my favourite! It's also purple which is my fave colour as well haha
Lol Lunda like you’d like taro milk tapioca pudding too - much more substantial than the tea version
I am in the north and never heard of such a thing. But we have a new invention it's called 'wheel''
Yes, I normally go for the Taro Pudding tea. For novelty factor I'd recommend going to Happy Lemon to try their Rock Salt Whipped Cheese tea - the cheese foam is delicious - https://chinatown.co.uk/en/bar-cafe/happy-lemon/

Ah yes I’ve seen that, but I’ve yet to try it. It is certainly interesting, very different from anything I’ve had before. Will check it out
Sounds horrible who invented this stuff? But I’m not really a lover of tea in general so I’m not qualified to judge I guess ,( though I occasionally will imbibe an earl grey )
janetchamberlai tbh it’s called tea but it’s more like a dessert drink. I’m a tea lover, but bubble tea is too sweet for me, and has too much texture
Never heard of it. The only tea i have is tetley and thats just for dunking biscuits Deffo more of a coffee lover.
Ha ha, I have just dunked half a packet of digestives, naughty but nice, and even though I knew I shouldn't i told myself it was my Easter treat.
I've heard of it before but never tried it as if never seen it in the shops where I live. Is it a hot or cold tea? I enjoy the flavoured ice teas from Costa, so if it was like those I would probably like it.
It’s more a cold beverage than hot, although there are hot varieties. If you like sweet teas, you will like bubble tea
Whenever I walk in Soho, London, there are HUGE queues for bubble tea shops. I like it, but don't see what all the rage is!
Most likely the queues consist of people who miss the beverages that remind them of home, although they’re paying double, if not triple, the prices
Hi hspexy. I've never heared of this tea be for. Can you get in supermarkets. It looks lush. Would love to try some.
Hi nicolajaynehend Happy easter to you too! No, i don't believe they’re being sold in the supermarkets yet, but one day I can imagine they will be. Hope you’re having a good long weekend x
Asian supermarkets sell it, if you have one nearby, loads cheaper than the pop up shops too
Lol that’ll just be the tea then, so heavily overpriced. And I still will not like the flavour, as it’s often sweetened
You can buy them from dessert places like kaspas... my fave is the mango drink and lychee tapioca balls
That does sound nice. I’ve had the teas where you get the lychee and mango jellies in them instead of the tapioca - really nice and refreshing, a proper summer drink
