Does Anyone like Matcha? and Where Do You Get Yours From?
Ask a Question
It’s not to everyone’s taste, and I don’t blame most people as they probably got poor grades of matcha, so it tastes awful
I tend to get the ones you can find in Japanese or Chinese shops, but they are expensive, although not as expensive as in the normal supermarkets. Tk Maxx sometimes sells ok matcha
Where do you get yours?
I managed to buy one from site we must not mention. I bought it after all the hype seen on healthy programmes but I have to admit it's been sitting in the cupboard for 4 months now and I still haven't opened it. It's in a largish pouch and you can sprinkle it and steep it but I have no idea if I have a low grade one or not. The good news is......because of this thread I will probably get it out soon and use it.
Lol glad my post served as a reminder! Matcha is good for you, with lots of health benefits - even the low grade ones will have properties that you may benefit from, as most don’t have green tea in their diet. The powdered matcha form is versatile, so definitely a better alternative to the other more sugary powdered products out there
I like all things matcha. London is well served by matcha focused eateries such as Tombo, Tsujiri, Kova Patisserie, Matcha and Beyond, etc. The Japan Centre is a good place to start for matcha tea and flavoured products to take home.
yes, I agree, although the Japan centre is very pricy. What I tend to do is find what I like instore and then look it up online, as sometimes the other Asian supermarkets will stock the same brands at cheaper prices
