What Does Anyone Think of 'Choose Three Numbers' Comps?

Ask a Question

Anyone else find it frustrating entering a comp to find - Choose three numbers from the boxes below, match the winning combination and the prize is yours! and they are always 'runs until won'. Tom Kelsey can we have a drop down box to state 'choose three numbers' or 'runs until won'?

I don't like them but I couldn't put my finger on why. I get a sinking feeling when I see that this is the entry method. I have never won anything from one of these competitions. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has.

It is not hard to see why, they are con jobs. How can anyone choose 3 correct numbers in the correct order out of about 70 plus numbers? You have more chance of winning the lotto.

Some say runs until won, others have an end date up to a year or two ahead. They are not going to let anyone win after a couple of weeks. The whole idea is to take you to the site so you see and maybe take notice of the adverts. Cheap advertising. If by some immense stroke of luck someone wins it is no loss to them but if no one wins they have had loads of free advertising which has cost them nothing and they don't have to give the prize.

PS yes, I have won on the ones that have a specific closing date and a question to answer...twice.

Lynibis Yes I think that you've explained the concept very well. I've actually been going between chat and competitions on here tonight. Of course the first competition I chose was one of these. Even though I know the chances of winning are very slim I'll still enter. Usually I'll click on 'Lucky Dip'.

seasider71 I must admit I have several of the magazine comps in my saved posts. I try to enter daily but with all other comps to enter as well I won't waste time on the three number ones as I know I will never win.

I know the feeling. You go to the effort of signing in and then 'choose three numbers', oh s***, waste of time. It would be nice to know beforehand.

lilyflower I don't think these comps should be posted. After all, if the question ones are posted you can go to the site, sign in and then enter all of them if you wish to. I do this whenever time allows and then just mark the corresponding posted comp as entered so they disappear when refreshed.

I'm not a fan of this type of competition, I feel like you really don't have a fair chance at winning.

I despise those comps and often wonder whether or not anyone actually wins them.

Thank you for your feedback. If it’s something that’s of popular request from fellow compers we are very open to looking into it!

As you can see Tom has said if it's a popular request they are open to looking into it. He doesn't say how to prove it's a popular request but I suppose the more comments or likes would 🙂

I think the fact that they take moments to enter and you get an instant answer as to whether you've won (or not most of the time) means I still enter them.

But I'd not lose too much sleep if they disappeared.

Those type of competitions frustrate me, I have never won anything when entering them. There are just too many possibilities

I used to enter them at first but quickly stopped as the chance of winning is minuscule.

If I like the prize I will enter them. Someone has to win them and it may as well be me 😉 I think if we knew the odds for other competitions it would be a disincentive for a lot of people.

I don't think anyone does win these comps. Why do they have a closing date in 2022 if it could be won before then? Suppose miraculously someone won in the first week, that's their advertising down the drain.
