There has been loads of people just handing their pets in during this crisis some I can understand but my local rescue centre had 71 dogs in 3 weeks.
Please consider rehoming a pet instead of buying a puppy when the lockdown ends.
Ah poor doggies. Same goes to the people that have bought a dog during lockdown these dogs will be on their own soon. Yep will cause a mess you get fed up then dump them see it to ofter today. Pets are for life.

I used to volunteer at the dogs home and ended up bringing Bolto home with me! Sad to think that people are dumping there pets though if it’s true!
AliceBell64468 hi Battersea might be different as it's so big compared to more regional ones. Our local kennel has been on shut down so nobody can come in apart from emergencies and are getting inundated with dogs
Some of those places are way too picky. One of them rejected my Mum who's had multiple cats over the years. A few of them lived past 18 years old. She lives on a single carriageway, 30mph road and has a massive garden at the front and back. Apparently that's not enough though so she went somewhere else and her current cat is a rescue one living a very happy life indeed. Do those idiots at the picky places not realise how far cats go? They'd say yes to someone on a Cul-de-sac but fail to realise how far cats go eg. to a main road round the corner if it takes their fancy!
I have to agree with you. Before we got our boy we visited our local centre on a few occasions & fell in love with a labrador, he was an old guy but such a sweetheart, so calm & friendly. They rejected us because we live on a busy road & don't have a garden. We do tho have a high walled large enclosed yard, 2 large fields on our door step & many walking spots. They weren't interested. Maybe it was meant to be tho, otherwise we wouldn't have our boy today & I cant imagine being without him. I wonder how many dogs & cats miss out on the possibility of a fantastic home tho due to overly tough rules.
Glitterandgold It's not just the rules. The people they use are mostly volunteers who in all fairness, are not qualified professionals so their opinion carries about the same weight and yours or mine. It does sound like things were meant to be with you though and my Mum has a great cat who's been a good companion through lockdown. All's well that ends well.
