Has anyone done so and what would be the shortest and safest way to drive there?

I’ve been a passenger a few times, and all we did was connect to the m20 to get to either Folkestone or Dover to catch the ferry or shuttle. Safety has never been an issue previously, but it might be different now. I’ve heard of people at work who actually do that commute every weekend, and they seem to make it back to work on Mondays, so it should be fine. Just be vigilant
