After how many times did it take you to pass your driving test?
I failed my first one today
What about you?
My son just took his theory on Saturday. Passed first time Proud mama! He's hoping to get his driving test booked this Friday via his instructor but apparently not likely until at least April- May due to backlog.
Js26 Thank you. Best of luck to you next time you take your test. You'll be more prepared next time & know what to expect now. Good luck!
The theory test wasn"t around when I was learning. I passed my driving test at the second attempt. Sorry that you failed yours. Don't give up!
It's just about getting used to it. I guess some become more used to it than others.
Then, there are those who are flawless during their driving lessons, yet on the exam due to the exam something goes wrong.
Relying on public transportation and driverless cars isn't a good idea in the long run despite that city folks think it is. Js26
I have not yet had a practical driving test. Though I did take my theory test and passed second time.
I am sorry to hear that you have failed your practical. But look at this as being an opportunity to improve on whatever it is that made you fail. Knowing the cause of the problem is half the battle.
I have never wonted to learn to drive due to the idiots driving or parents buying their kids a car with a engine to big they can't handle
Passed the theory test and practical test first time. I think because I just had the right amount of lessons and made sure I was really ready
Sorry that you failed your first attempt but please don't be disheartened and think of it as experience. You now know what to expect next time and will be even more prepared and I'm sure you'll do well on your second attempt. Good luck
Fortunately, just once. Which is just as well as I found the driving test to be very stressful
I passed first time. But barely had the chance to drive afterwards, now 20 years later I'm scared of driving (rented a car on holiday and nearly had a panic attack)
I passed first time. There was no theory test back then.
It was a bit stressful because I had the examiner's boss in the back of the car who was assessing him.
Luckily, they took me on the easiest test route
I learned to drive back in a time when many women still did not. Usually one family car which the husband claimed ownership of. However, hubby was abroad 9 months of every year so I needed to drive. He had passed first time so pressure was on but I did too, he phoned that night from abroad and next day sent me flowers. Both our sons passed first time and grandson also passed first time straight after his 17th birthday. I feel sorry for family members of the future having to keep up the record lol!
I only had a practical and a written test. The written was very easy as just brought in took a few practical can't remember now exactly how many. I believe they made it harder now with additional tests my daughter is planning to learn next year
I love driving, I learnt to drive when I was 12 when I used to race minis and literally couldnโt wait to start driving - had a lesson on my 17th birthday lol. Passed both theory and practical first time, 9 years ago now!
Passed first time but admittedly had quite a few lessons. I didn't actually drive a car straight away I was still riding my bike. It was about a year later I got a car and I'd forgotten a lot of it so had to learn it while driving which probably shouldn't be legal. From what I understand the test was easier back then than now.
Twice, over 20 years ago and haven't driven since. Would hate to have to do it now with all the new changes. Still doesn't help the younger drivers get cheaper car insurance though as however hard they make it, younger drivers are still, statistically the worst drivers. You wonder why as they have to study so hard these days to pass
I think I passed on the 4th & 5th time, I used to go to pieces just before the test with nerves. But I didn't start learning until my late thirties.
yes i drive. past my theory test frist time. and failed my first driving text, but passed second time. don't worry all the best drivers fail first time!!
I can imagine how you feel. I failed my practical three times passed on the fourth. After every single failed attempt I was tempted to give up to spare myself the tears. My brothers started learning after me and passed first time and before me. Was so grateful when I managed to pass eventually. I passed my theory first time though.
Don't give up you've got this
I was so pleased to beat my brother, 35 years today I've been driving, first time as well, that long ago took theory test while sitting at driving test centre after test x
I passed the theory test on the 3rd attempt and the practical test on the 5th attempt, don't give up - you've got this
Luckily Iโve only taken my driving test once, I crammed all my
Lessons on a few weeks! But I do recommend taking your time!
Once! You will pass, dust yourself off and try again. My sister in law did it on her 3rd time, my friends daughter passed 5th time round. Everybody is different.
I put 110% into learning how to drive and luckily I passed 1st time with a clean drive no points, 17th Sept 2018 was my first lesson and I passed on the 3rd Dec 2018 only taking 14 lessons. I passed my theory on my second attempt.
YouTube videos helped me alot and Google maps looking at the roads around me figuring what Lane etc I need to be in on entry and exit to roundabouts. Whatever we were going to practice that week I'd research it as much as I can. Just practice practice and practice and don't stress you will pass in the end.
I passed the first time but it took me forever to learn to drive!
I had a crush on my driving instructor, so that didn't help!
I passed my theory test first time and driving test second time. My aunty passed her driving test on her 15th go
I would love to have learnt to drive if it wasnt for health reasons. Good luck on your next try
I passed first time and now my son will be starting to drive next year as he turns 17 December 31st I hope he manages to pass first time too.
I went to take my second driving exam today and passed with flying colors. The first time, it was an old guy who kept putting gel on his hands constantly and talked in a somewhat rude manner.
Younger examiners (40yo ish) are more chilled, imo.
The worst part wasn't even failing, it was paying.
I passed the Theory test first time round and driving test 2nd time round. I had 2 instructors. One I saw each week and the other I did an intensive course that was 6 hours a day for a week and did the test at the end. The intensive course instructor was rubbish at his job, he belittled me, made me feel awful every single day and took away all my confidence in my driving ability. I never wanted to get in a car again. My mum persuaded to go for a lesson with my old instructor and within 10 minutes I had my confidence back and loved driving again. A few more lessons with him and I passed. Funnily enough the intensive driver went out of business a few months after I used him, he had lots of complaints and word of mouth was key where I grew up!
As somewhat of a newbie driver I feel kinda worried when driving alone, despite that I always do everything correctly.
It's like my neighbor said: "You only start truly driving for real while on the road, not with driving lessons."
He's s cool guy. Still, every time I see him he offers me wine and beer which I should decline, but if I'm not driving it doesn't do any harm. That is, in moderate portions.
I'm an old geezer , we didn't have a theory test ( I'm not sure what is ) . I passed first time but I had been driving on a provisional for years before . No anpr or the like then to check my lisence ( that's not spelled correctly is it ?)
Once for theory test. Took a motorbike test years ago but when finished I was told that they had to fail me because the L plate was 1 inch out of position. Would have passed but for that. Passed on retry a month later. Passed car theory and car test first time. Had a good teacher ( my wife )
