No. I don’t have many pleasures so a glass of wine on a winters night is a must.

Not me. At most, I usually only drink alcohol a few times a month and I don't drink excessively. If people are drinking heavily for the other 11 months, then stopping for one month isn't going to make much difference.

hmm I only half agree. I dont drink what would be considered heavily neither does my brother but he does have a beer at least every over day plus maybe 3 over the weekend but its empty calories plus all the other associated health implications so we are going for it. And to say a month of curbing a bad habit is not beneficial seems shortshited- sorry. It is a break a chance to take stress off the body, liver etc and allows for the chance to make more permanent change which I think is great 😊

Not for me, thanks. I know people who do a dry Jan to recover from the festive period. Surprisingly I didn’t have much to drink this year, so no recovery needed

No don't drink a lot anyway and don't agree with these new year fads, they rarely last. Rather than cut something out altogether I think a better idea is to just cut back on whatever.

Well done you! It's so much better to have a sibling challenge - rivalry overload. πŸ˜‚ I won't be joining you though. I had a nasty virus leading up to Christmas that totally wiped out my birthday on the 21st so I am determined to celebrate in a week or so, when things quieten down.

I've challenged my partner to dry January. I'm really proud of him as he normally has a drink after work

No dry January for me. I've still got half a bottle of vodka left from Christmas. I'll be finishing it off soon enough.
