Why do people keep falsely report competitions as duplicate?
Especially when the ‘duplicate’ has expired and is no longer live..
Do people just not know how to use the reporting system or just trying to annoy people?
Seems like there is no repercussions for these people either.
You've just solved my mystery - I shared a comp yesterday and was notified early this morning that it had already been shared - but when I went to the comp it was already greyed out (you had posted a month ago) I always think the reporter is a serious comper that is very familiar with the comps being added. I share but I only enter a few of my own and rarely look at the comp section - wish I had the time to do so. The thing that seems to be getting worse is that the 'bots aren't recognising the duplication before it is accepted. 
(on this occasion they probably reported it as a duplicate and not expired)
Yes thats exactly the same as what’s been happening to me, in my opinion you should have been able to post that competition if the one previously shared has already ended! Some companies will often giveaway the same prizes at different dates.. I even had one of my ones yesterday marked as duplicate for a Wallis Fashion Dress, and someone marked it as duplicate against my own one I had shared for the same product that had already closed a week ago!
Yes I agree it is just getting worse there should be something that stops it being removed if the other comp has already ended!
AliceBell64468 I have also deliberately taken a day off the end of some comps when the publication just says a date and not a time - I got fed up with it being reported as expired.
