Eat Out to Help Out has been viewed as success by many. So much so that many restaurants and landlords don't want it to end.
As a result many places that took part in the scheme will continue the Monday to Wednesday offer in September.

I think it was always going to happen once it became so popular . The raw materials (food ) aren't that expensive its the staffing ,rent , rates etc that are .
Many places are already doing it all week (Morrisons ) . And many of the "Grub Pub " chains Wetherspoons , Greene King , Befeater , Marstons etc are also doing it permanently .
I suppose it makes sense for the Grub Pubs to extend it off their own backs as alcohol is not included in the deal and that's where those pubs make their money .
All in all probably a win ,win in terms of getting the hard hit hospitality sector back to work and hopefully save a few closures now the furlough is coming to an end soon .
I think it would help if more landlords followed Grosvenor's example by offering reimbursement in the form of reduced rents. It's in their interest to keep tenants in their properties.
ACR Not surprisingly some of my best buddies are Pub tenant landlords ! The range of different leases they are on is mind boggling .
Not just the hospitality sector (Pubs , Restaurants Etc ) shops too . From what I hear the property "landlords " are bending over backwards to help (not in their interests for businesses to go bust as you say ) . At the end of the day the property owners haven't got unlimited piles of cash to keep giving rent holidays to failing businesses - so sadly many will go out of business .
All I can do is keep giving my local pubs my custom , and encourage others to do the same (observing social distancing of course ) - Lets face it no one wants to drink in an empty Pub .
Let’s hope more restaurants sign up. It’s best to have bums on seats which will hopefully keep more staff employed. Most restaurants can not afford to pay the furlough contributions.
I think businesses should start to rebuild and, by all means, think up promotions going forward, but this one is not sustainable for any length of time.
I have enjoyed safely taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme at my local cafe, and feel that the promotion has encouraged people to go back to high street and independent cafes post-Lockdown.

To be honest I don't mind whether it is continued or not as I haven't and won't be taking advantage of it.
Two reasons. I have watched too much Gordon Ramsey, Kitchen Nightmares and secondly I am not going to do anything to put myself at risk over and above the things I have to do.
Will people still go out when it stops and meals go up to full price? I haven't took advantage of this as i'm not putting myself at risk just for food and drinks.
We took advantage of this last night as a one off and went to Brewers Fayre , Limited menu, food was good as was the service the bill for 5 of us came to £127 before discount , we did take a bit of advantage of the offer and had 3 courses plus drinks which were mainly soft drinks. No way could we afford to do that on a regular basis .
Mango4 I was wondering that as well. A lot of diners only took part in the scheme, because they were able eat outside. When temperatures begin to drop many of them maybe reluctant eat inside restaurants. At least in my area, the weather forecast for September is looking good, so hopefully people will continue to go out. Although, long term, a lot of eateries will probably still struggle to survive.
I was absolutely of the same mind set. However, my local cafe isolated us on a balcony area of the cafe. Everyone else, the four times I have visited, sat outside. So, the chance of catching anything was negligible.
Furthermore, the stats are stating the chance of catching anything has lowered substantially. There is always a chance of course, but I think the reporting on this by the Biased Broadcasting Corporation has been journalistically appalling. I fully understand why droves of people are turning away from the BBC now and favouring other platforms.
I will continue to return to this local cafe after Eat Out to Help Out finishes as I am super loyal and they have shown an enormous amount of customer care to those visiting. I enjoy my weekly visits and it gives me a chance to escape my office desk and the house.
ACR Have to say Brewers fayre was very well organised inside ,Only half the tables booked Table Service only , Screens between tables, one way system in operation, Hand sanitiser throughout, we had no concerns whatsoever, in fact it was more enjoyable as there were less people in the restaurant than usual.
Didn't I read that you were a professional chef in one of your comments so your 'taste better' comment may not apply to all. I got fish and chips, apple crumble and a mocha coffee in Morrisons for £3.50 I'm unsure if I could beat that at home, I suspect I could maybe by fifty pence but not by much. I couldn't do a Mocha as nice at home either although could have been a bit more generous with the chips at home.

I think fair play to the ones who are extending it but on the other hand we have to get back to some sort of normality soon otherwise we will start to think this is life as we know it. Staffing and rates still have to be paid out so these companies will have to be making a income to be able to pay these costs. I honestly think a month was a great deal offered to the customer and I do know of places which have not passed the saving onto the customer and kept it to keep their business afloat so they say. Anyway let's enjoy the last few days of it and get back on the road to normality and paying for things the way we used to yes we all like a deal but they don't last forever peace out everyone and hope you are all keeping well 
stew45 they can’t keep what they won’t get they need to apply to the government and prove they have offered the 50% discount without proof they get nothing
As a family of 7 it’s been nice being able to afford to eat out and I’d kind of like that to continue but my waistline is strongly disagreeing!
HollyDolly22 we managed to get a table for 8 then on day of meal I phoned to add another 3 and we got a separate table for them next to us 11eating 6 had desert all drinks including 2 pints came to £84 altogether
woodcockjane I wish it was like there near me every time I ring no one answers the phone I tried booking online at some and comes up I have to call because the number of us.
Brilliant idea we went to Brewers Fayre on a Wednesday night was 11of us altogether as try to go for meal when my daughter comes home and cost £84 for everything

I took advantage of it yesterday and with the American Express offer I saved a lot of money.
I am interested how everyone seemed to be complaining they had no money but now with half price food they out eating 3 times a week. I havent used the scheme or will I eat out again.
I think it has been nice that families with children have been able to take them out for a treat without it costing too much after being stuck at home for months.
The hospitality industry has been hit very hard and if this extension means that they can continue to operate and employ staff, that’s a positive thing.
Everyone has a personal choice whether to avail or not and those that do should not be judged.
Toby Carvery and HARVESTER have said they will also extend, but I believe both are currently only doing it for the first 2 weeks of September. The above list isn't comprehensive, it's only the restaurants that had confirmed by the time the BBC News article was written.

Agreed, businesses do need more help. This uncertainty has no end in sight and they won't be able to struggle along indefinitely. I'm seeing a lot of empty/almost empty places.
I do not get it...
If u on a budget and have no money to go to restaurants...50% off will not make u go there.
I think the farmers needed the support so the produce could be cheaper and more people could take advantage of it. Restaurants could still sell food 50% off.
I would like to see the healthy things are 50% less...like raspberries, cherries, broccoli, greens...etc
Does anyone know if McDonald's , burger King or KFC is extending the deal? My local Subway told me they are still extending eating in at half price
