Lockdown, eat out to help out, lockdown again, eat out to help out again, lockdown again, eat out to help out again etc...

This will likely go on and on until we have a proven fully functional vaccine. Something tells me that the government don't really know what they are doing.

They're rushing COVID Vaccines left and right so it probably won't take that long for average citizens to be injected with them.

"Normal" as in happy to accept to take a vaccine that was developed in months? That's not normal.

PhilipMarc Its not "normal" to makes assumptions about people, at no point did i mention the vaccine

You're right you didn't, but a lot generally say "us normal people will take it as we are the sane ones."

That's partly from the "other" deals website, the thread it was from has been deleted, unsurprisingly. neo1

The first eat out to help out scheme helped to increase numbers and now they want to do it again in the winter! Good old lockdown again in Jan/Feb.

I have said that in this crisis that the chancellor has probably came closest to shining a positive light on what the government has achieved BUT if this what they are planning then the man needs to join the year long waiting list to see a specialist as he is clearly living in cloud cuckoo land . If there is 1 person in this country who doesnt think that the previous eotoho scheme didn't help kick the second wave and a contributing towards us being with the highest total in Europe then I'd laugh at this insanely bad idea .

I know people will not agree with this but why cannot we wait till any sort of cure is dished out , we protect the country and then rather than ill thought out dreams and then maybe we can then enjoy our very well earned freedom more than a few stop gaps.

Lockdowns aren't meant to end, but to be normalized.

I really enjoyed and took full advantage of the Eat out to Help scheme. I would be very happy if there was a second helping.

Same here. A few of my friends were on the verge of bankruptcy, but thankfully the uptake of the offer was good, so they were able to survive the past few months. It gave them at least a chance to survive, as there’s nothing else on the table. Sadly, I can’t say the same for a lot of the businesses on the high street

I think they will be issuing people with £10 vouchers to spend, similar to the way the Office for National Statistics gives them out but they can be used at any business that registers with the scheme not just selected retailers.

I don't think it would be a good idea to do another eat out to help out scheme while there are so many virus cases everywhere

I thought that the first eat out was a significant factor in the increase of covid cases and, if so, it seems madness to do it again.?!
